The Bentley T1 was a full-size luxury car built between 1965-1977 by the British automaker. It was introduced at Paris Motor Show on 5 October 1965, badged as a Bentley and offered as a variation of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. The differences between the two cars were slight, including a smaller grill on the Bentley. The Bentley sold for 50 GBP cheaper than the Rolls-Royce version.
It was an elegant executive car that came in the form of a 4-door sedan, 2 door sport coupe, or drop top convertible. Most cars were built completely in-house, but some were licensed to independent coachbuilders, James Young and Mulliner Park Ward, for customization.
Being the first in a series, it was simply referred to as the “T” model, rather than the T1. The Bentley T, manufactured or sold in 1965, came in versions for Europe and Australia. All base models made by the factory were of the 4-door sedan body type. They used RWD (rear-wheel drive) and automatic 4-speed gearbox.
The petrol (gasoline) engine had a displacement of 6231 cm3 / 380.2 cui and an advertised power: 140 kW / 188 hp / 190 PS and producing torque of 480 Nm / 354 lb-ft. ts outside length was 5169 mm / 203.5 in, wheelbase: 3035 mm / 119.5 in. It had a base curb weight of 2100 kg / 4629 lbs. It had a top speed: 175 km/h (109 mph) and could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 13.1 seconds and 0-100 km/h 13.8 seconds. It had a 1/4 mile drag time (402 m) of 19.4 seconds, which was quite good for such a large, luxury automobile.
