About the Bristol 412

The Bristol 412 cars were grand tourer, hardtop convertible cars made between the years of 1975 and 1993, by British automaker Bristol Cars. It was a convertible with a targa top, which could be removed and placed in the luggage storage area of the car. The company, which had its roots in airplane manufacturer, left behind its sleek curves for a more modern sports car look with sharp angles. It was quite a performer for its class and era. It came in 4 versions:

412 Series 1 (1975-1978)

The first of the 412 cars was a rear-wheel drive with an automatic 3-speed gearbox. It’s 1978 petrol engine had a displacement of 6551 cm3 or 399.8 cubic inches. It had an advertised power of 197 kW / 264 hp / 268 PS and torque of 454 Nm or 335 lb-ft. It had a wheelbase of 2896 mm / 114 in and a base curb weight: 1714 kg / 3779 lbs. It had a top speed of 225 km/h or 140 mph, as declared by the factory. It could accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.9 seconds and go 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

412 Series 2 (1978-1986)

The 1986 version of the 412 series 2 had a petrol (gasoline) engine with displacement of 5898 cm3 or 359.9 cui. It had an advertised power of 126.5 kW / 170 hp / 172 PS ( SAE net ), and torque of 366 Nm or 270 lb-ft. It had a top speed of 192 km/h or 119 mph. It had accelerations of 0-60 mph in 11 seconds and 0-100 km/h of 11.7 seconds. Simulations say the 1/4 mile drag time (402 m) would be 18.1 seconds.

412 Series 3 Beaufighter (1980-1993)

The Series 3, called the Beaufighter, used a petrol (gasoline) engine with displacement of 5898 cm3 or 359.9 cui. Its advertised top speed was 225 km/h or 140 mph, as declared by the factory. It had a 0- 60 mph time of just 7 seconds and a 0-100 km/h of 7.3 seconds, as declared by the factory.

412 Series 3 Beaufort (1984-1993)

The 412 Beaufort used a petrol (gasoline) engine with a displacement of 5898 cm3 / 359.9 cubic inch. The advertised top speed was 225 km/h or 140 mph. It had quick acceleration with a 0-60 mph time of only 5.9 seconds and a 0-100 km/h time of only 6.1 s.
