The BMW M635csi is a unique and beautiful car manufactured between 1983 and 1987. When the M635csi was introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in 1983, it was met with widespread praise.
The M635 CSi was powered by a derivative of the M1 supercar’s engine, the M88/3. The European-market M635 CSi was the only variant of the 6-series model equipped with this rare, desirable, high-output motor. The M635 CSi was able to achieve a top speed of 158 mph and covered the 0-60mph sprint in just 6.1 seconds. This performance makes it the fastest of all the e24 varieties by a significant margin.
In 1987 the M635 CSi was manufactured for the United States with an S38 engine, as opposed to Europe’s M88/3 engine. The U.S. models of the M635 CSi were more comfort-oriented; optional additions for models sold in Europe, like powered seats and a rear A/C unit, came standard on US-spec cars.
