Datsun Violet, also known as the A10-series, was a small compact family car built between the years of 1977-1981. The Violet came as either a 4-door sedan or a hatchback coupe. The Datsun model Violet is part of the compact/small family car class “C (medium cars, compact)” market segment.
Cars were fitted with variety of engines, ranging from 1397 – 1595 cc (85.1 – 97.4 cui) displacement, delivering 47 – 65.5 kW (64 – 89 PS, 63 – 87 hp) of power. The Datsun Violet (A10-series) closely related also to Datsun 510 A10, which was for export to the US, and the Nissan Stanza and Nissan Auster.
One notable editions was the 1981 Datsun Violet 1.6 SSS Hatchback Coupe. It was a 3-door coupe body type with a rear hatch. It utilized RWD (rear-wheel drive) and manual 5-speed transmission. It had a petrol (gasoline) engine with displacement of 1595 cm3 / 97.4 cubic inches. Its advertised power was 65.5 kW / 88 hp / 89 PS ( DIN ) and it had torque of 126 Nm / 93 lb-ft.
